STARTURRETS

A tower defence game that keeps going when you close the tab

I'm making StarTurrets by myself. You get a small world in a galaxy that everyone shares, put towers on the roads into it, and hold it against pirates and the other empires.

Play free in your browser

No download and no email, you just pick a name.

A small base in a pine forest. Pirates walk down the road from the gate while laser and missile towers fire at them.
A pirate raid on somebody's first base. The pirates come whether you're there or not.
A star system map: a red sun, planets and moons on their orbits, some flying their owners' emblems, and a trading post.

Your base makes money

Every planet, moon and asteroid on the map can be taken. Whatever your base produces is sold at the trading post in its system, and the coins go into more towers. You can also run cargo between systems if the prices are better next door.

Troops marching up a road into a pirate base with a skull-shaped core, with the attacker's squad buttons along the bottom.

And you can take theirs

When you want a bigger world, you invade someone else's. You choose the troops, which road each squad comes down and when, and which towers the air strikes hit. The owner gets ten minutes of warning, and they're doing the same to you.

The galaxy right now

This is the real map, …, updated as you read. Each dot is a star system, and the colours are the empires holding them. A ring pulses where a fight is going on.

Who's ahead, by what they're worth

reading the standings

The black hole in the middle swallows the galaxy in …. Whoever is richest when it does wins, and the next galaxy is named after them.

It's early, and this galaxy is a practice run

Nothing you lose here really counts yet. When I start the first tournament, the whole galaxy resets and everybody begins level on the same empty map. If you play now, you'll know the game by then.

It's free and works on a phone. About a minute to your first base.
