I make StarTurrets on my own, in Australia. This page says what the game keeps about you, why, and who else sees any of it. I try to keep as little as the game needs.

What I keep

Cookies

The game sets a cookie that keeps you signed in, and one that lets me count a visit before you make an account. Both only work on this site.

Meta and Google

To find more people who might like the game, I use the Meta Pixel and the Google tag. When they're switched on, your browser loads them from Meta and Google, and they set their own cookies. They're told that you visited, and a few game events: that you made an account, beat your first pirate raids, took a first world, or came back on another day. I don't send them your name, your email or your game. Meta and Google use this to show my ads to people likely to enjoy the game, and their own privacy policies cover what they do with it.

You can turn off ads based on this in Meta's ad preferences and Google's My Ad Center, or block third party cookies in your browser. The game works the same either way.

Who else sees it

The game runs on a server I rent from DigitalOcean in Sydney. Emails go out through a company called Resend. Big moments in the galaxy are posted to the StarTurrets Discord, under player names only. Nobody else gets anything, and I never sell anything.

How long I keep it

Your account stays until you ask me to remove it. A galaxy is wiped when its season ends, but your account, your cosmetics and your records carry over.

Seeing or removing your details

Ask me and I'll tell you what I hold about you, fix it, or delete your account and everything tied to it. Message me on the StarTurrets Discord.
